Arizona may soon have the toughest immigration laws in the nation. A wide-ranging, controversial measure moving quickly through the Legislature would, among other things, make Arizona the only state in the nation to charge illegal immigrants with trespassing.

PHOENIX -- Dozens of demonstrators rallied last week at theState Capitol against bills that would make it trespassing to be inthe country illegally and require local law enforcement to assistin enforcing federal immigration laws.
